Investigators will on Saturday begin questioning Constable Noel Maitland who was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the disappearance of his girlfriend, social media personality Donna-Lee Donaldson.
His attorney, Christopher Townsend, says the interrogation will get under way at 1:00 p.m.
Mr. Townsend spoke with Radio Jamaica News on Friday following a failed attempt to get Constable Maitland released.
The attorney had gone to the St. Andrew Parish Court to file a writ of habeas corpus requesting that the policeman be charged or released.
But he said, in the middle of making the application, his team was informed that investigators had applied Thursday for Constable Maitland to be remanded.
Mr. Townsend said the policeman has been remanded for 10 days.
The attorney said he was contacted by the police after his failed habeas corpus application and told that Constable Maitland will be questioned Saturday afternoon.
Radio Jamaica News has been informed that investigators have collected significant evidence in the case and are likely to lay charges.
Miss Donaldson was reported missing on July 13, two days after she went to visit Constable Maitland at his St. Andrew apartment.
