Dispute between cousins led to shooting death of two-year-old in Trelawny

A dispute between cousins turned deadly on Sunday night, resulting in the fatal shooting of a two-year-old boy in Mack Hill, Trelawny.
 
The child is Adrian Campbell.
 
A 20-year-old man is in custody in connection with the death of the boy.
 
Deputy Superintendent Winston Milton, head of the Trelawny Police, said about 8 o'clock, a man was sitting in his Honda motor car with the child when his relative fired into the vehicle. 
 
The shot missed the man and hit the two-year-old who was seated in the rear of the vehicle.  
 
Adrian was rushed to Falmouth General Hospital where is was pronounced dead. 
 
Ricardo Brown, the stepfather of the two-year-old boy, confirmed to Radio Jamaica News that an altercation between him and his cousin led to the child's death.
 
"He box mi baby mother, and mi lick him. From that, then he have revenge fi come fi mi."
 
"Di yute run from up deh suh and start firing shot into my car and den mi drive off. Mi drive off now, and afta mi reach up deh suh, mi find out seh di baby get shot," Mr. Brown explained. 
 
DSP Milton said the suspect was apprehended in Duncans in the parish during a stop and search operation set up shortly after the shooting.
