Local media report the "serious and vicious attack" also injured 45 people - among them elderly and children.
Police say the 62-year-old driver, identified as a Mr Fan, appeared to have acted out of unhappiness over a divorce settlement.
Police said in a statement he was arrested as he tried to flee the Sports Center and is in a coma due to self-inflicted wounds.
