An emergency meeting at the Ministry of Labour on Wednesday ended without a resolution to the dispute involving air traffic controllers.
Radio Jamaica News was informed that no representative of the Ministry of Finance showed up for the talks.
It's reported that the Labour Ministry requested that the Jamaica Air Traffic Controllers Association (JATCA) withdraw its strike notice which expires on Thursday, but this was refused.
JATCA President Kurt Solomon had earlier told Radio Jamaica News that if there is no resolution during Wednesday's meeting, the members will proceed with industrial action.
The air traffic controllers, who have been restive for several months over wage negotiations, signalled on Monday that they are planning to take action following a request from the Finance Ministry to remove some items from their wage claim.
