Police in Antigua have charged the 35-year-old former boyfriend of a Jamaican woman whose throat was slashed on a street in the capital last weekend.
Police say Shawn Mussington, who was released from hospital after being treated following the incident on Saturday night, has been charged with the murder of Simone Whyte.
Mr. Mussington's attorney, Wendel Robinson, told state media ABS TV that his client had sought treatment at hospital for two wounds he is alleged to have sustained during an altercation with Mrs Whyte.
Mrs Whyte is the ninth person murdered in Antigua this year. She reportedly relocated to Antigua a little more than three years ago.
The 45-year-old Jamaican was a mother of three.
