Five to face court for breaches of Dangerous Drugs Act

Five men are to face the St. Elizabeth Parish Court on Friday for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
 
They were arrested last week Monday off the coast of Alligator Pond, St. Elizabeth with ganja valued at $12 million.
 
They are 28-year-old construction worker Loshene Sibbles; 23-year-old farmer George Shakespeare; 46-year-old farmer Henry Salmon and 45-year-old farmer Erron Blake, all of St. Elizabeth addresses.
 
The fifth man is 63-year-old James Singh, a fisherman of New Green in Manchester.
 
It was reported that about 6:00 p.m. on November 23, members of the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard were on an anti-narcotics mission off the coast of  Alligator Pond when they intercepted a vessel with five men aboard. 
 
The operation resulted in the seizure of 57 bags of ganja.
 
The vessel was also seized.
 
The contraband and the men were handed over to the Narcotics Police.
