Four fishermen charged in relation to ganja bust in St. Mary

Four fishermen have been charged in connection with the almost 3,000 pounds of ganja seized last week off the coast of Galina, St. Mary.
 
They were charged on Wednesday.
 
The men are 37-year-old Edson Thompson and 22-year-old William Reid, both of St Thomas addresses, as well as 53-year-old Ivan Henry from St. Ann and 23-year-old Everton Martin of a St. Mary address.
 
The Narcotics Police have charged them with Possession of Ganja, Dealing in Ganja, Attempting to Export Ganja and Conspiracy to Export Ganja.
 
The men will answer to the charges in the St. Mary Parish Court on Tuesday.
 
The ganja, valued at $12 million, was seized on September 15 by the Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard.
 
A boat with the four men aboard was intercepted and several bags containing compressed ganja allegedly found.
