Attorney Bert Samuels

The defence team representing Alysia Moulton White, the outgoing Vice President of Group Marketing at Sagicor Group Jamaica, says the fraud charges laid against her are without merit.
Mrs Moulton White was charged today with conspiracy to defraud, unlawfully making available data or device for the commission of an offence, engaging in a transaction involving a criminal offence, and receiving stolen property.
She was subsequently offered bail in the sum of $1 million and is to appear in court on February 21.
Mrs Moulton White is represented by attorneys Bert Samuels and Matthew Hyatt.
Mr. Samuels said his client maintains her innocence.
He called the charges against her "totally misleading to anyone looking at the information that the police have", adding that he and his client were the ones who "gave the police all the information".
He also asserted that her charges are in relation to $661,000 and not the larger $65 million for which two other former Sagicor employees have been charged.
Former Sagicor Bank employees, Tricia Monique Moulton and Malika McLeod, who are accused of fleecing customers of more than $60 million, last Friday had their bail extended when they appeared in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court.
They are to return to court on February 21.
Investigators probing the multi-million dollar fraud say there is a possibility that more people could be charged as the probe continues.
