At least 50 people were killed late Monday, after a truck carrying fuel exploded in the Haitian city of Cap-Haitien.
According to the city’s Deputy Mayor, Patrick Almonor, they were all burned alive and it is impossible to identify them.
Several others were injured.
It’s reported that the truck driver lost control of the vehicle as he swerved to avoid a motorcycle taxi and the tanker flipped over.
Haiti’s Prime Minister Ariel Henry said there will be three days of national mourning throughout the land, in memory of the victims of a tragedy that has devastated the entire country.
