PNP President Mark Golding and Senator Donna Scott Mottley
People's National Party (PNP) President Mark Golding is confident he will be returned unopposed.
At midday Tuesday, Mr. Golding was the sole candidate for president of the PNP.
Mr. Golding says he is not surprised as this is indicative of unity in the party.
He told Radio Jamaica News that the party is at the stage where "there is one leader and I have the full support of everybody on board", adding that "the people appreciate the work I've been putting in to bring everybody together".

Senator Donna Scott Mottley was one of four persons nominated Tuesday for the vice president positions.
Senator Scott Mottley said she hopes to be an inspiration for other women to "see what is possible" and to desire to serve in politics.
Mikael Phillips, Ian Hayley and Norman Scott are the other candidates.
Nominations close at midday on Friday.
Meadows seeks to join PNP
Mr. Golding confirmed that an application for membership from former MP caretaker for Trelawny North, Dennis Meadows, has been received.
While not giving details on the application, Mr. Golding disclosed that it is "a matter which the executive will consider when the time comes".
Mr. Meadows recently resigned from the Jamaica Labour Party, saying he no longer felt welcomed by the top brass of the party.
