Haiti is the only CARICOM country named in an updated World Health Organisation health workforce support and safeguards list for this year.
The list identifies 55 countries as vulnerable for the availability of health workers required to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goal target of universal health coverage by 2030.
Thirty-seven of the countries are in the WHO African region; eight are in the Western Pacific region; six are in the Eastern Mediterranean region; three are in the South-East Asia region; and one, Haiti, is in the Americas.
