Haitian, Nicaraguan nationals remanded after court appearance

The two Haitians and three Nicaraguans who were held in St Elizabeth on Wednesday during separate operations were remanded when they appeared in the St Elizabeth Parish court yesterday.

The Haitians were picked up at a house in Newton and later charged with illegal entry.

The Nicaraguans were charged with illegal entry and ganja possession.

They are arrested in Junction.

When the matter came up for mention in court yesterday, the prosecution requested time to secure an interpreter.

The men are scheduled to return to court on November 2.
