The occupants of a car made a narrow escape on Monday afternoon as their vehicle became stuck in several feet of water at the Fairview Shopping Complex in Montego Bay, St. James.
The area is one of several which became flooded as heavy rain began pelting St. James about 3:30 Monday afternoon.
Vehicles going into the major shopping complex have had to find alternative routes while gas station operators had to pause operations due to heavy wind and lightning.
Other flooded areas are River Bay Road and Bevin Avenue intersections, Railway Lane/Catherine Lane intersection and the entire Railway Lane.
A section of the drain on Union Street is blocked close to the Parish Council with water overflowing unto the streets and gushing down Orange Street.
Just last Saturday heavy rainfall led to the Dome area being blocked by debris forcing motorists to seek alternative routes.
