Holland Bamboo Avenue being resuscitated

Following years of destruction by both human and natural elements, efforts are underway to resuscitate Holland Bamboo Avenue in St. Elizabeth.
  
A replanting programme has been put in place by the South Coast Resort Board and the Parks and Garden Department of the Ministry of Agriculture.  
  
In the meantime, RJR News was informed that an initiative is being put in place to regulate vending activities on the roadway.
 
It is hoped that the presence of the vendors will deter unscrupulous persons from setting fire to the bamboo and chopping them down.
