The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved emergency financing assistance of about US$16 million to St. Vincent and the Grenadines to help address the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a media release today the IMF said the pandemic has hit St. Vincent and the Grenadines hard.
It noted that tourism receipts have dried up as arrivals have come to a halt.
The IMF support will allow the government to ease the impact on the population, including increased spending as well as health and social protection.
