The Public Defender's interim report on the May 2010 Tivoli Gardens incursion is near completion.
Speaking yesterday on Beyond the Headlines Public Defender Earl Witter said he was putting the finishing touches to the report and it will likely be presented to Parliament when it returns from the summer break next week Tuesday.
This is the clearest signal yet from Mr. Witter that the report is almost ready.
The Public Defender has been under pressure for the publication of the much anticipated report, having missed several deadlines.
Last month, human rights lobby group, Jamaicans for Justice said the lengthy delay was unacceptable and had implications for the holding of a Commission of Enquiry into the incursion.
More than 70 people died during the violent confrontation when the security forces went into Western Kingston to serve an extradition warrant on Christopher "Dudus" Coke.
