Jamaican employed to Cayman Islands Prison resigns

A Jamaican who is an employee of  the Cayman Islands Prison Service has resigned after it was discovered that he was convicted in the United States.

The Cayman News Service, is reporting that prison guard is Ricardo Fisher, who is from Jamaica, and was convicted of  a sex offence in the US.
    

He was deported from New York where he was living at the time in 2009.  
It’s reported that Fisher is a registered sex offender in the US, but never made the declaration when he applied for the job in Cayman.
It's reported that prison officials conducted a probe which was concluded on Friday, and were expected to lay charges under Prison Officers Discipline Regulations.
    

However Fisher resigned with immediate effect.
    

Last week, Cayman Islands Police Commissioner David Baines faced calls to resign, after it was discovered that Jamaican policeman Tyrone Findlay, a member of  the Cayman Police Force, had been convicted in Jamaica for a murder in St. Elizabeth.
