The agreement for a new wage and fringe benefits contract for public sector workers could be signed this week.

President of  the Jamaica Confederation of  Trade Unions Helene Davis-Whyte told Radio Jamaica News that she has received the draft of  the agreement.

It was based on feedback from member unions of  the confederation.

The confederation, a grouping of trade unions, represents major groups in the public sector, including the Jamaica Civil Service Association.

The Ministry of Finance & the Public Service is expected to start paying the four per cent wage increase and retroactive amounts in November.
