JDF soldier, nine-year-old among four shot in St. Ann

A member of the Jamaica Defence Force and a nine-year-old child are hospitalised following an attack by gunmen in Blue Hole, St. Ann on Sunday evening.
 
Two other people were also shot in the attack.
 
The victims were removed from the wreckage of a motor vehicle which crashed on the North South leg of Highway 2000.
 
Radio Jamaica News was informed by investigators that about 6:30 p.m., the occupants were leaving a function in Blue Hole, St. Ann when they were intercepted by armed men aboard two vehicles.
 
The men sprayed the vehicle with bullets, killing one passenger and injuring others.
 
The victims are said to be from the Homestead community in Spanish Town, St. Catherine.
 
The JDF soldier, who was driving the vehicle, underwent emergency surgery today.
 
CIB detectives from St. Ann and the St. Catherine South and St. Catherine North divisions are investigating the incident.
