JPS Savana-la-Mar office firebombed

The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) has temporarily closed its office in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, after it was damaged in a  firebombing attack on the weekend.

The JPS says the closure is to facilitate repairs.

The company says the Westmoreland Fire Department was alerted just after 1 o'clock Saturday morning that there was a firebombing at the property, situated at 14 Great George Street.

It says both internal and external sections of the facility were damaged.

Ramsay McDonald, Senior Vice President for Customer Services at JPS, has condemned the firebombing.

He says the company will be working with the security forces to quickly identify the perpetrators.
