JPS says power outages reported in all parishes

Winsome Callum, Director of Corporate Communications and Customer Experience at the JPS

The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) is reporting that some customers are now without electricity due to the rains associated with Tropical Storm Grace.

Winsome Callum, Director of Corporate Communications at JPS, said power outages have been reported in all parishes but northeastern parishes are the worst affected.

"The entire parish of Portland is in fact without power," Ms Callum revealed, adding that St. Mary and St. Thomas are also badly affected.

Sections of Kingston and St. Andrew, St. Catherine and St. Ann are also experiencing outages due to damage to power lines and poles.

Ms Callum said electricity will be restored to the affected areas when it is safe to do so.

She encouraged customers to make outage reports using the JPS app or website.
