Lawyers representing one
of the suspects in last Sunday's deadly shooting incident at the La Roose
Nightclub in St. Catherine, have filed a writ in court demanding his release.
Lawyers for Michael Robinson a music promoter filed the writ in court this week.
Lead defense attorney, Jacqueline Samuels-Brown told the RJR News Centre that the application will be heard on Monday.
Mrs. Samuels-Brown said her client was shot several times in the incident and that she was puzzled that he was the only one taken into custody.
However, investigators said Mr. Robinson was one of the suspects involved in the deadly shooting which left one man dead and several persons injured.
Clifton Reid, 47, of a Lincoln Road address in Kingston was shot dead in the fracas during the annual British Link-Up dance at the La Roose Nightclub.
It was alleged that Mr. Robinson and another patron got into a dispute at the dance during which shots were fired.
Mr. Robinson was shot several times and was rushed to hospital where he was treated.
However, while in hospital he was placed under police guard and licensed firearm seized by investigators.
Two other persons were interrogated in connection with the shooting; but the police have not stated whether they are in custody.
