The operator of Little Ochie Seafood Restaurant and Bar is taking issue with one aspect of Wednesday's announcement of plans to establish marine bases to help secure the country's borders.

During the signing of a memorandum of understanding, it was announced by National Security Minister Robert Montague that the police and Jamaica Customs will jointly establish bases at several coastal locations in Jamaica. Among them he listed Little Ochie, which is at Alligator Pond, on the border of St. Elizabeth and Manchester.

However, Everol Christian, Operator of Little Ochie Seafood Restaurant and Bar, told RJR News that this has placed his establishment in a negative light.

"What the minister is trying to say is that he's setting up a marine base in Alligator Pond but he (said) Little Ochie rather than saying Alligator Pond. So when he said Little Ochie, it affect my branch...because what he is trying to send a message on is that he is curtailing entries (of) illicit items," he explained.
