The Narcotics Police are intensifying their probe following the seizure of 400 cartons of cigarettes and an undetermined amount of what the police suspect to be ecstasy pills, on Wednesday.
About 3 p.m. the police conducted a search of a building being used as an Airbnb on Olympic Way, Kingston 11, which resulted in the seizure of the uncustomed cigarettes.
The cigarettes are estimated to have a street value of $47 million.
The police say the exact quantity and street value of the ecstasy pills have not yet been ascertained as they are awaiting analysis from the Institute of Forensic Science and Legal Medicine.
No one was arrested in connection with the seizure.
The police say they are following strong leads and are hoping to make arrests in the investigation.
