Murdered Canadian woman was in Jamaica to celebrate wedding anniversary

The family of the 28-year-old Canadian woman who was killed during a physical altercation with her husband in Clarendon on Saturday says she came to Jamaica to celebrate her first wedding anniversary.
 
Jaeda Pauline Whitehead arrived in Jamaica on April 30.
 
Ms Whitehead died at hospital on Saturday May 13, a day after she was involved in a physical altercation with the suspect.
 
He is to be questioned in relation to her death.
 
Evelyn Fox, an aunt of Ms Whitehead told Global News in Canada that the woman was in Jamaica for two weeks to celebrate with her husband. 
 
The police say she was involved in a domestic dispute with her spouse during which she sustained injuries. 
 
Ms Whitehead did not seek medical attention, neither did she report the matter to the police. 
 
She was found unresponsive in bed the following day and was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead. 
 
Police say the husband is likely to be charged with murder. 
 
Ms Whitehead's aunt remembered her as a "free spirit" and "very giving", adding that her death has left the family in shock. 
 
Ms Whitehead was a caretaker at a public school in Toronto.
