New York woman charged in relation to murder of Jamaican immigrant

Police in Bronx, New York have arrested a woman accused in the deadly shooting of a 24-year-old Jamaican immigrant who she claimed stood too close to her inside a Dunkin' Donuts in March.

Eighteen-year-old Santiana Rodriguez was charged with murder on Monday.

Police are still searching for her boyfriend who is believed to have carried out the shooting.

Officials from the New York Police Department said Miss Rodriguez got into a dispute with 24-year-old Stephaun Stuart inside the Dunkin' Donuts.

Miss Rodriguez had accused him of standing too close and disrespecting her.

Senior officials said Mr. Stuart and a friend left the shop but were allegedly tracked down by Miss Rodriguez.

Investigators believe Miss Rodriguez's boyfriend shot Mr. Stuart shortly after.

Sources said Mr. Stuart had only been in New York for a few months and had been working to financially support family in Jamaica.
