A police constable, assigned to the St. Andrew Central Division, died in a motor vehicle crash in Portmore, St. Catherine on Wednesday evening.
His identity has not been released.
It's reported that sometime after 8 p.m., the policeman was driving his black Nissan Sylphy motorcar on South East 4th Street in Greater Portmore when he collided with a Jamaica Urban Transit Company bus that was travelling in the opposite direction.
The car was extensively damaged.
The policeman was pronounced dead at hospital.
The Police High Command has expressed sadness at his death.
