A member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force was arrested on Friday after he reportedly pulled his service pistol on security personnel and other persons at the Bahia Principe Hotel, Runaway Bay, St. Ann.
The Police High Command has ordered a probe into the incident.
It's reported that about 4 pm, the Detective Corporal, who was a guest at the hotel, was on the property having a drink.
It's reported that the policeman became intoxicated and started to behave in a disorderly manner.
It's alleged that he pulled his service pistol and pointed it at security personnel who confronted him about his behaviour.
This resulted in guests scampering for cover.
The policeman was eventually disarmed by the security officers who summoned the Runaway Bay Police.
The Police Corporal was reportedly placed in handcuffs and taken off the hotel property by police personnel.
Head of the St Ann police division, Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell confirmed the incident and told Radio Jamaica News that the policeman is now under investigation for the offence of Assault at Common law after pulling his weapon on the hotel staff.
