The University of Technology has confirmed that Professor Errol Morrison will be leaving the institution.
A communique issued on Wednesday by the University's Council said Professor Morrison will take up a secondment at another public sector organization, before his contract ends in February next year.
The statement from the Council suggested a decision had been made on the matter, but it delayed making the announcement, to allow the government to make the information public.
The Council noted that a replacement to serve until February next year is being identified, and the name will be released as soon as all the arrangements are in place.
