PSOJ urges Holness to reconsider allowing opposition members to chair parliamentary committees

The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) is recommending that Prime Minister Andrew Holness re-evaluate his position regarding the chairmanship of  sessional committees of the House of Representatives.

In a media release Wednesday, PSOJ President Keith Duncan said it is imperative that the opposition chairs the committees to ensure oversight.

Mr. Duncan said the PSOJ has received clarity that the development and execution of Government policy and projects have not been hampered by the relative inactivity of some of the committees.
