Security forces recover illegal firearm in Bull Bay raid

The security forces have seized another illegal firearm in St. Thomas following a joint police/military operation in Bull Bay early Wednesday morning.
 
A quantity of ammunition was also seized.
 
According to police reports, at about 1 o'clock, members of the security forces went to a premises at Lane Gate, 11 Miles Bull Bay, where a party was in session.
 
The team conducted a search of the venue where approximately 200 patrons were in attendance.
 
During the search, one Beretta .38 pistol with a magazine affixed containing eleven .38 rounds were recovered inside a bucket.
 
No arrests have been made in connection with the find.
 
This is the second firearm and ammunition recovery in the parish since the start of the year.
 
Both firearms and ammunition were recovered in the Bull Bay community.
 
On Thursday, February 8, a Galil Ace N22 assault rifle with one magazine containing 29 (5.56) rounds of ammunition was recovered in the Tank Well Hills area.
