Tracey-Ann Campbell, who was arrested on July 1 after attempting to smuggle contraband to an inmate at Black River Police Station in St. Elizabeth, was on Thursday offered bail.

Ms. Campbell, 41, who is a shopkeeper from Riversdale, St. Catherine, was granted bail in the sum of $100,000 with surety when she appeared in the St. Elizabeth Parish Court.

She is scheduled to return to court on September 11.

The court was told that Ms. Campbell turned up at the police station with items for her son who is in custody.

During a search, a false compartment was discovered containing ganja, cigarettes and lighters.

Ms. Campbell reportedly told the police that the container was given to her to deliver to another detainee and she was not aware that there was a false compartment.
