Suriname President Chandrika-Persad Santokhi has given government ministers a one-week deadline to reverse policies where lands reserved for agricultural projects were being given to people.
Addressing a meeting of his Progressive Reform Party on the weekend, Mr Santokhi said the lands were parcelled out by the Ministry of Land Policy and Forest Management.
President Santokhi warned that he would act if the measures were not reversed.
