The main suspect linked to the execution-style killing of a woman in the presence of her child in St. Catherine last month has been fatally shot by the police in Old Harbour.
He has been identified as Jordan Kennedy.
Kennedy was killed during a reported confrontation with the police along the Bodles main road Wednesday morning.
It's reported that the lawmen intercepted a vehicle in which Kennedy was a passenger. The driver jumped from the vehicle and escaped.
Kennedy reportedly challenged the police and was shot.
A Glock 9mm pistol affixed with a magazine containing three rounds of ammunition was retrieved from him.
He was listed as the main suspect in connection with the April 7 murder of 20-year-old Deja-May Wright and the wounding of her three-year-old child in Old Harbour.
It was reported that armed thugs went to Ms. Wright's home in Marlie Mount and shouted 'Police!' sometime after 4 a.m.
Ms. Wright was shot multiple times when she opened the door.
Her three-year-old son received gunshot wounds to his left leg.
Investigators say a gang feud was behind the attack.
