Trelawny crash fatalities bring road deaths to 102 since start of year

The deaths of  three persons in Friday evening's collision on a section of  the North Coast Highway in Trelawny has pushed fatalities on the nation's roads since the start of  the year to 102.
 
Crash investigators are continuing their probe into the cause of  the two-vehicle collision, which is suspected to have been the result of  speeding.
 
The deceased have been identified as social 21 year old Lexian Williams of  a Chalky Hill, St Ann address, 25 year old Kemar Smith of  Hyde in Clarks Town, Trelawny and 31 year Chris Codner of Exchange, St Ann.
 
Miss Williams, popularly known as Lexi D Bess, was a passenger in a Toyota Mark X, driven by Mr Smith.
 
They were en route to a cookout.
 
According to the police, both vehicles were travelling in opposite directions when on reaching the vicinity of Spring Hill, Mr Smith lost control of  his car which crashed into the Toyota Voxy, driven by Mr Codner.
 
Eight people were injured and taken to hospital.
 
Miss Williams, Mr Smith and Mr Codner were pronounced dead.
 
The police say the other five people, one passenger in the Toyota Mark X and four passengers in the Toyota Voxy, were admitted.
