T&T Opposition Leader vows to deport Venezuelan migrants involved in crime

Opposition Leader of Trinidad & Tobago Kamla Persad-Bissessar has announced a plan to deport illegal Venezuelan migrants.

Mrs. Persad-Bissessar has promised that, if returned to Government, she will take a stand against all illegal Venezuelan migrants committing crime and deport them "by any means necessary".

Mrs. Persad-Bissessar said, over the last year, there have been several reports of violent crimes being committed by Venezuelan migrants.

She has accused the Keith Rowley-led government of sitting idly by as more and more citizens are terrorised and murdered by illegal Venezuelan migrants.

She has called for the migrant community to desist from engaging in criminal conduct, assist the police in identifying Venezuelan criminals and integrate peacefully into the society or face deportation.

The Opposition Leader has reiterated her call for a clear migrant policy to be implemented in Trinidad and Tobago.
