US fugitive captured in Kingston remanded

Ranje Reynolds, the US fugitive who was captured in Kingston, Jamaica on Tuesday, was remanded Thursday when he appeared in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court.

Mr. Reynolds, 24, is wanted in connection with the January murder of 27-year-old Tarek Boothe of Virginia.

Mr. Reynolds, who is without legal representation, is to return to court on August 22.

It is expected that legal representation will be settled for Mr. Reynolds before his next court appearance.

It is alleged that Mr. Reynolds shot and killed Mr. Boothe following an argument.

Members of the United States Marshals Service Florida and Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force were involved in taking Mr. Reynolds into custody.

US media reports say he will be returned to Washington, D.C. where he will be charged with first-degree murder while armed.
