Pollster Don Anderson

Jamaicans continue to have mixed views about Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Opposition Leader Mark Golding, even with a general election on the horizon.

That's the result of a poll conducted by Market Research Services Limited, led by Don Anderson.

The poll, commissioned by the People's National Party, was done from April 4 to 12.

One thousand and 57 people were asked to rate the performance of Prime Minister  Andrew Holness.

According to the poll findings 34 per cent of respondents gave him a negative performance rating - poor and very poor.

On the other hand, 33 per cent gave him a positive rating - good and very good, and 33 per cent said his performance was average.

He said 60 per cent of those who rated Mr Holness positively said he was a good leader and 36 per cent said he was improving the economy and developing infrastructure.

They also said the Prime Minister is creating jobs and that he cares about Jamaica.

Golding

Respondents were also asked to evaluate the performance of Opposition Leader Mark Golding and 25 per cent gave him a negative performance rating - poor and very poor.

Twenty-one per cent gave him a positive rating - good and very good, while 54 percent of respondents said his performance was average.
