Friend of deceased woman
The police is looking for a man suspected of killing a woman in Crooked River, Clarendon on Monday.
The woman has been identified as 61 year old Sharon Cole, a caregiver of McDonald district in Crooked River.
According to the police, Ms. Cole was at a grocery shop at about 5:10 p.m. when she had a dispute with a man.
A machete was used to chop Ms Cole all over her body.
Her left hand was severed.
Ms. Cole was pronounced dead at a medical facility.
Radio Jamaica News spoke with a friend of Ms. Cole who witnessed the incident.
“She was inside di shop and a guy just came up. He ask her to buy her a drink, buy him a drink, which she does….Him seh ‘yuh cyaan tell mi thanks?’ And she don’t answer…And same time he grab har and he go outside and grab di cutlass and start to chop her merciless,” the friend recounted.
She also said she cried out for help but no one answered.
“Nobody to mi rescue because nobody wasn’t there. And mi cousin over dere suh and wi a call to him and a tell him…’stop. Why you a chop up Sharon suh for?’ And mi a call to him and him nah stop,” the friend told Radio Jamaica News.
She said she had to flee when the man started walking towards her.
She claims that the man was pursuing Ms. Cole for a relationship.
