Anderson adapting to basketball

Former Edwin Allen High School student Marvedene Anderson, who left Jamaica two years ago to take up a basketball scholarship in the United States, was back in Jamaica two weeks ago talking about her experience in America.

She said it was difficulty changing from netball to basketball.

"The transition from netball to basketball is really hard because they’re two different sports. In netball I didn’t use to run up and down and it doesn’t have a back board. But in basketball, I had to learn to use the back board and every thing but I’m coming along pretty good," Anderson said.

The young Jamaican is the world's tallest female teenager at 6 feet 11 inches.
