RJR has been reliably informed that former TPDCO executive director Michael Muirhead is the new CEO of the West Indies cricket board.
In a dramatic twist, Muirhead got the nod ahead of countrymen David Mcbean and Bryan Gouldson after the West Indies cricket board failed to reach an agreement with front runner Ravi Rambarran of Trinidad and Tobago.
muirhead previously served as a management consultant for Price Waterhouse, Jamaica as well as consultant managing director for the financial sector adjustment company, (FINSAC).
He will take up the post on October one to replace the outgoing Dr. Ernest Hilaire, who leaves to take up a diplomatic position for St Lucia.
Muirhead will take over for a three-year period with the option of extending at the end of his contract.
