Joel Miller yesterday walked away with the top prize in the 2022 FIWI SHORT FILM competition.
The amateur filmmakers were tasked with using a Jamaican proverb to create a five-minute treatment based on their interpretation.
For his short film, Hairport, Miller was prescribed the proverb "Nuh mek yuh lef han know weh yuh right han a do."
Trade Secrets by Jahnielle Powell and Friend Killa by Keron Watson, both inspired by the same proverb, rounded out the top three.
More than 17 filmmakers entered this year's competition which is the brainchild of the JCDC's Drama and Theatre Arts Unit.
