Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Security Dr. Horace Chang is calling for a more robust legislative framework to support urban planning in Jamaica.
Dr. Chang noted that a comprehensive legal framework to foster sustainable prosperous communities is crucial, in addressing potential challenges posed by unregulated development.
He says the issue needs to be discussed with urban planners, the security forces and with all other stakeholders.
Dr. Chang was speaking at the World Town Planning Day forum held at the Montego Bay Convention Centre last week.
