GraceKennedy says its Jamaica-made Vienna Sausages not exported to the US

The GraceKennedy Group Limited says it does not export Grace Vienna Sausages, made in Jamaica, to the USA nor does it have any authorised distributor in that market.

The company also stressed that it is not eligible to export meat or poultry products to that market and operates in full compliance with this regulatory requirement.

The company therefore says that any Grace Vienna Sausages that are distributed in that market come from its United Kingdom facility which is compliant with America's regulatory requirements.

GraceKennedy also says the alert issued by the US States Department of Agriculture Food Inspection Service relates to products entering from a country that is not eligible to export meat or poultry and not because of contamination.

The company also says that its Jamaican facility, which manufactures Grace Vienna Sausages is Food Safety System 22000 Certified and maintains stringent food safety and quality standards.

The company was responding to a health alert issued by the United States Department of Agriculture Food Safety Inspection Service on October 6 concerning Grace Vienna Sausages manufactured in Jamaica.
