Margaritaville Turks reports revenue decline

Margaritaville Turks is reporting a decline in third-quarter revenue, linked to lower cruise passenger arrivals at the Grand Turk Cruise Centre.

The company says just over 361,000 passengers visited the facility during the quarter ending February, a drop of about 29, from the same period last year.

Despite the decline, this represents the second-highest passenger throughput on record.

Revenue for the quarter fell to US$2.29 million, down from $2.61 million last year, reflecting the reduction in visitor numbers.

Net profit also declined, coming in at us$310,000, compared to $437,000 in the corresponding period last year.

For the nine-month period, total passenger arrivals reached just over 921,000, down from just over one million last year. Revenue for the period was us$6.38 million.

However, the company recorded an improvement in spending per passenger, which rose to $6,92, as it continued efforts to optimise revenue.
