MPC Caribbean Clean Energy reports strong second quarter performance

MPC Caribbean Clean Energy is reporting strong operational performance across its renewable energy portfolio for the second quarter, despite grid constraints affecting its Monte Plata solar project in the Dominican Republic.

The company says its renewable assets generated 48 gigawatt-hours of clean electricity.

In Costa Rica, the Tilawind wind farm generated 17 per cent above budget, while revenue exceeded target by 46 per cent.

San Isidro Solar Park in El Salvador also exceeded its generation and revenue targets.

However, Monte Plata's generation was 12.4 per cent below budget because of continued grid curtailment, particularly at Phase Two.

The company also says a binding offer for the San Isidro project demonstrates continued investor interest in renewable energy assets in the region.
