The Bahamas government has signed an expanded heads of agreement with MSC Cruises South Africa, approving a $100 million expansion plan for Ocean Cay that builds on an existing investment of US$400 million.
The authorities said the project is slated for completion in 2024 and will be undertaken in two phases.
Prime Minister Phillip Davis has fully endorsed the development.
He said the expansion signals strong investor confidence adding that it is the kind of corporate responsibility effort and environmental stewardship they want to see from all major developmental projects in the future.
