VMIL banks on digital technology to serve clients in Eastern Caribbean

VM Investments Limited (VMIL) says it intends to use its investment advisory licence, which was recently approved by Barbados, to serve clients in the Eastern Caribbean virtually, while using digital technology to onboard them.

The company's chief operating officer, Allison Mais, said this will enable it to recruit and serve more clients in the Eastern Caribbean in a more cost-effective way.

She stressed that it is more cost-effective to expand digitally than to build out more brick-and-mortar locations to facilitate its geographical diversification process.

Ms. Mais said the company will be using Barbados as a springboard to drive it digitally.

She also indicated that VMIL's recent partnership with technology firm Abacus will help it to facilitate the use of artificial intelligence into its processes.
