A new artificial intelligence-driven payment system is set to improve the distribution of government assistance under the Restoration of Owner or Occupant Family Shelters Programme, commonly called ROOFS.
Country Manager of the WiPay Group, Kibwe McGann, says the company has developed a new platform called Gov Pay 2.0 to streamline the disbursement process.
Mr. McGann says the system will allow beneficiaries to be scheduled for payments at more than 100 locations islandwide.
He explains that recipients will also have the option of receiving funds directly to their bank accounts, reducing transportation costs as well as the risks associated with carrying large sums of cash.
According to Mr. McGann, the technology will also help to eliminate duplicate payments and improve accountability in the distribution process.
