Jamaica makes winning start at Pan Am Men's Lacrosse Championship

Host nation Jamaica opened their account at the inaugural Pan-American Men's Lacrosse Championship qualifiers with an emphatic 22-2 victory over Colombia in Pool "A" at the Stadium East Field on Monday night.  

The first quarter was a close contest which saw the Jamaicans edging it 4-2, after leading 4-0 at one stage.

However, the world number 8 ranked team went on to score 18 unanswered goals over the next three quarters to come away with the big win.

The team scored 4 in the second quarter, before netting 8 goals in the third and added 6 goals in the final quarter to cap off the win. Elias McLaughlin top scored with 4 goals, while four others scored three goals.

The Jamaicans will be back in action on Wednesday against the world number one ranked united states at 6:00 pm at the Stadium East Field.
